Welcome to the Awaken 2012 blog. Our hope is to nurture a community gathering place for those who want to join not only in the discussion of the film, Awaken 2012, but also in the movement and thought processes the film inspires.
This movement, as we are learning, is less about forcing ourselves to change, than it is about allowing ourselves to join that which is already changing.
When the filmmakers began creating Awaken 2012 five years ago, they had no idea that the release of the film would fall amidst a major planetary crisis including the aftermath of several major earthquakes, tsunamis, storms and an unprecedented global economic crisis…
These catastrophes that shake our world including the recent earthquakes that rocked Haiti, Chile and Japan might seem to have “come out of the blue,” except that there is a back story. For ages, civilizations and foreseers have foreshadowed the year 2012. Hollywood has capitalized on this milestone as the possible Blockbuster end of our world as we know it.
As we near that historic date, what then can we expect? Is this truly the dusk of our existence?
The message of the film Awaken 2012 is far from such a doomsday note of despair. Rather, its resounding message is of hope. The year 2012 need not mark the end of time, the film suggests, but rather the conclusion of an old era, and the shedding of an outdated mindset. As narcissism and individualism operating on a fear based ego mentality have driven humanity away from its higher purpose, the recent chaos is the process by which the globe and its life is realigning towards a more harmonious pursuit. It’s a wake-up call to move into a soul based, oneness consciousness.
In effect, the Earth and all its inhabitants are experiencing growing pains. Tectonic plates are shifting, as large institutions are suffering instability. These growing pains are not meant to “do us in,” but rather to remind us that we are on the verge of waking up to a wiser way of living. We can no longer do it all on our own, as our self-centered efforts are no longer serving us. We now need the help of the Earth, and each other, to move into the next stage of connectedness.
This world crisis allows us to ultimately purge ourselves from fear both individually and collectively. In this way, we release our ego and allow ourselves to experience that we are all one. While this process of change may bring discomfort, it also brings opportunity. As we wake up, and let go, we gain clarity on a better way of life. We then see the temporary chaos as inevitable steps towards a clearer future. We are being given the chance to heal our past wounds, and connect with one another in cooperation and light.
This opportunity is happening now. How will we respond?
As we launch this blog, we would like to ask you… How are the Earth’s changes aiding in our ascension? How can we amplify the light on this planet? How can these changes help us, in our day-to-day lives, and how can we help others? How can we avert panic, and instead see these changes as an inevitable shift, with the potential to lead humanity to greater enlightenment?
